Issue/Introduction

Identity Governance and Identity Portal utilize different methods for processing file uploads. Identity Governance validates files at the User Interface (UI) level, whereas Identity Portal validates at the web service level. This discrepancy means Identity Portal can generally handle larger data loads, but synchronization issues may occur if Identity Governance standards are not observed during integration.

The architectural difference in validation layers (UI-level vs. Web Service-level) leads to inconsistent behavior when uploading large attachments or multiple files through the Identity Portal for use in Identity Governance campaigns.

Resolution

To ensure consistent behavior and avoid upload failures during Identity Governance certification campaigns, adhere to the following recommended standards:

• Single File Size: Ensure any single attachment does not exceed 100 MB.
• Identity Governance UI: Upload no more than one file at a time when using the Governance interface directly.
• Cumulative Uploads: Multiple files may be uploaded that exceed 100 MB in total, provided each individual file remains under the 100 MB threshold.
• Identity Portal Testing: If larger file sizes are required, conduct environment-specific testing in Identity Portal to verify stability before deploying to production campaigns.
• Certification Campaigns: Operational instructions for inserting attachments into specific campaigns should align with these synchronization limits to ensure reviewers can successfully download materials via the portal.
