Issue/Introduction

When running reports nearly all Views show correct data graphs or charts. They also are unreadable because all the necessary text data for element names, metric information and chart legends are displayed in unreadable symbol fonts.

Environment

All supported DxNetOps Performance Management releases

Cause

In the case of English fonts, there were no fonts in the sans-serif family installed. When selecting a font the system was randomly choosing symbol fonts breaking the display of reports.

Normally most systems are built with this. In this case it was not.

Resolution

Install a preferred font in the sans-serif family. A simple solution is running the "yum groupinstall fonts" command in Red Hat Linux to install the necessary fonts.

Restart CA Performance Center services and the problem will be resolved.

Additional Information

r3.6 release documentation with alternative OS commands for the same operation.
