Issue/Introduction

A Policy Xpress policy that uses the CA random number generator to create passwords. The following errors occur.

"Modify user "Test25": Generated By Policy Xpress: Failed to execute ModifyUserEvent. ERROR MESSAGE: PasswordMessageType::Reuse Arguments"

Environment

Release:
Component: IDMGR

Cause

The password "reuse" message seems to indicate that the same or similar password is being set multiple times.  What's happening, is not that the random password is being set more than once rather, it is a timing issue with the validation of the password based on 'when' the PX is configured to run within the task/event processing model.

Resolution

The failure can be resolved by changing  how/when the Xpress Policy is invoked.

For example, try changing the policy's category to run against the UI.
