Data source Spectrum sync fail in NetOps Portal

Issue/Introduction

Getting a failure when trying to enable Spectrum as data source in NetOps Portal

Cause

there are 2 causes here:

spectrum was previously added as a data source and then improperly removed.

also, we see this error in the DM wrapper.log:

CAUSE=java.net.UnknownHostException: UnknownHostException invoking http://*****:8888/axis2/services/DataSourceWS: <hostname>. MESSAGE=Could not send Message.. Returning DS_COMM_FAILURE result.

this is caused by communication failure.

Resolution

added a host file entry on the NetOps Portal host for the spectrum host.

removed the spectrum data source, did a synch all, waited until the data source was gone from the ds view.

added spectrum in as a new data source.
