OPIDENT({blank|name}) The 1- to 3-character operator identification code that you assign to each operator. CICS stores the code in the operator's terminal entry in the CICS terminal control table (TCTTE) when the operator signs on. This operator ID is displayed in certain CICS messages and can also be used in the EXEC CICS ROUTE command for routing BMS messages. It is also used when using the CEDA LOCK command. The OPID is used in user applications and removing it may cause failures and problems. You can ask your application people if they know of applications using OPID. Most likely if someone started assigning OPIDs then they had applications that used them. Below is a link that tells you how to find what loadlibs would issue cics commands, then you would need to find out if any are looking for OPID. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSGMCP_5.2.0/com.ibm.cics.ts.doc/dfha6/topics/dfha693.html
