Email bodies containing non-English language characters appears garbled.

Issue/Introduction

Email events with the body content in Korean or other Far-Eastern languages encoded with ISO standard instead of the UTF-8 encoding appear distorted or garbled in the CA Data Protection iConsole search results window.

Cause

The cause of this issue is the use of an email body section with a specific non-English code page (for example 1252) being to translated to a unicode text format, resulting in the wrong text being displayed. 

Resolution

FIX:SO05497 (incorporating Web_15.2_HF0191) has been released to address this issue.

 After applying this fix, iConsole search results showing email events with body content encoded with ISO standards for far-east languages rendered properly.

FIX:SO05497 is available to download from the CA Support Portal (http://support.ca.com)
