Issue/Introduction

After rebooting the VMTP or MTP server, the /data directory is not mounted

Cause

The likely cause of this issue is that there is an entry for the /data directory missing in the server's /etc/fstab file. This file dictates which directories should be mounted automatically on boot.

Environment

CentOS 5.X, 6.X, 7.X

Resolution

To ensure that your /data directory mounts every time, do the following:

1) nano /etc/fstab
2) Add the following line:

/dev/sdb2  /data  xfs  defaults,noatime,nodiratime,osyncisdsync,logbufs=8,logbsize=64k,nobarrier  1  1

** If you are on a CA6000 server, change /dev/sdb2 to /dev/sdb1 **

3) Save
