Issue/Introduction

When attempting to set up LDAP for the first time, the variable UC_LDAP_EXAMPLE should be used as a template for configuring your LDAP connections. When completely filled out, however, no users are able to be synced and no information about the user is populated from the LDAP server in the User object.

Cause

Extra character in the UC_LDAP_* variable in the DOMAIN_ALIAS Key.

Environment

N/A

Resolution

When checking over the LDAP variable, nothing immediately stands out:

<Please see attached file for image>

Extra space does not show
Upon further investigation, however, when you edit the variable a new character will present to the right of the Value, such as in the example below for DOMAIN_ALIAS:

<Please see attached file for image>

Edit shows the extra character
Open the Cell Editor view via the box to the right of the Value (as in the above picture) - a new dialog should now show:

<Please see attached file for image>

In the cell editor view the extra space is present

Remove this extra space, click OK, and save the variable. You should now be able to synchronize your users.
