Issue/Introduction

Is there a list of SARINIT and RMOPARM parameters that tie/link a CA View and CA Deliver environment together for the processing of reports?

Resolution

Please see the following list of RMOPARM and SARINIT configuration parameters which are used link the two systems together:

---------------------------------------------------------- CA Deliver RMOPARMS associated to CA View -----------------------------------------------

ARCH
The default archive criteria to be used by reports that are to be archived to CA View when no archive criteria value is specified in the ARCH field on the Report Definition Attributes panel.

With ARCH=1 the output is spooled to the JES queue. CA VIEW will then open the spool and move the output to the SAR DB. This is done by opening the spool file and sequentially downloading the information to the SAR DB while updating the INDEX in the SAR DB as it goes.

ARCHnn (Form 1)
ARCHnn (Form 1) specifies a set of criteria, that is identified and referenced by the value nn.
nn defines the attributes for reports that are to be archived to CA View using the JES spool.

ARCHnn (Form 2)
Archive directly to a specific CA View database without passing the reports to the JES spool.
nn is a value from 1–99 (or 01-99 depending on your installation option).
You can specify ARCHnn=DIRECT to default to the database name specified in the SAR= initialization parameter or specifically reference the CA View database prefix.

With ARCH=DIRECT/SAR DB Name the output is NEVER sent to the JES spool and the output is dumped into the CA View SAR DB as a OPEN FILE. The file stays open until all the writes are completed and the the INDEX is updated. Depending on how large the output dump is at the time this could take many minutes. Plus you then have the internal index update within the RSDS file. This could lead to a large clock time window where not all items are updated in the index of the RSDS and "some" CA Balancing reports will not be correct and yet "some" will be correct.

DEFDEL
Indicates whether recipients can delete the report from archive or alter the archive status within CA View.

DEFOUT
Indicates whether output is to be printed, or tracked or untracked for view only.

DEFREPRT
Indicates whether recipients can reprint reports within CA View.

DEFRVIEW
Indicates whether the recipient has restricted viewing privileges for the report within CA View.

PREVRUN
Reports from the most recently run job for the product are to be flagged, deleted, or left unprocessed as follows:
The first value is for reports that have not been archived by CA View. The second value is for reports that have been archived. The second value takes precedence over the first value.

SAR
The high-level name of the default CA View database for direct-to-View archival.

SARBUFCT
The number of buffers for archiving direct-to-View.

CLEAN
This parameter specifies whether the CA View backup cycle is to invoke cleanup processing of CA Deliver direct-to-CA View reports with OPEN status

DIRALLOC
This parameter specifies the number of blocks allocated for CA Deliver-direct-to-CA View archival.

EXPOPRV
This parameter specifies whether the user requesting the reprint in Express Operator (EXPO) mode is to be used for reprinting. When EXPOPRV=YES (the default), the Deliver DISTIDs for this report are replaced by the DISTID of the user requesting the reprint. To append the Deliver DISTIDs to the reprint list after the user's DSITID, select option ‘D’ – Distribution Specifications on the CA Deliver Reprint Attributes screen. When EXPOPRV=NO, the DISTIDs in the reprint list are the original DISTIDs only. EXPOPRV works with the PRINT ALL DISTIDS and OUT parameters found on the Distribution Specification panel.

EXPRESS
This parameter specifies the high-level name of the CA Deliver database. The high-level name is limited to 17 characters.

PRTALL
This parameter specifies, for the EXPO mode of CA View, an initial default value used in CA Deliver reprints.
PRTALL determines whether the OUT indicator in the distribution identifier used during a reprint.
