How does Spectrum determine the Model Class of a device model
Spectrum determines the Model Class of a device model based on mib support. When first modeled, Spectrum queries specific mibs and based on the responses will set the Model Class of the device.
For example, to check if the device is a router, Spectrum reads the ipForwrding attribute from the ip mib. If enabled, then Spectrum logically concludes the device is routing and set the Model Class to Router (3).
