Issue/Introduction
I have added a new state to my project and want to create a lifecycle diagram with the "View Project Life Cycle" function. I am getting the following error:
Two or more states are overlapping. Please correct this condition before doing an Optimize Layout.

CA Harvest SCM all versions and platforms.
Cause
The project has 9 states. When I right click on the project name and select View Project Lifecycle, The error message appears.
It means that the Administrator Tool tried to create a state diagram but since there are so many states, the diagram has 2 or more states in the same position, stacked on top of each other.

Resolution
Click OK to clear the message, then click and drag states on the diagram to move them to a new position until you find which state(s) were causing the error message. When all your states are organized as you prefer, right click in the diagram and select "Optimize Layout" to rearrange the arrows and make the diagram more readable.
