There may come a time when it is noticed that the Archive Manager on the primary SpectroSERVER(SS) is not connecting properly.
First review the Archive Manager log to see which user is starting the service, and which Landscape Handle is being used. These are two common reasons for Archive Manager not to connect. Example of an ARCHMGR.OUT:
<SPECROOT>/SS/DDM/ARCHMGR.OUT:
Oct 14 11:12:09 : ArchMgr started as user 'spectrum'
Oct 14 11:12:09 : ArchMgr validating database.
Oct 14 11:12:13 : ArchMgr successfully connected to MySQL service
Oct 14 11:12:13 : ArchMgr loaded DDM database with landscape handle 0x1000000
Restarting Spectrum services has known to resolve this issue quickly.
1. Stop the SpectroSERVER
2. Stop Spectrum Process Daemon
3. Start Spectrum Process Daemon
4. Start SpectroSERVER back up.
Also verify the user used to log into the OS is a valid user in the Spectrum database. NOTE: Spectrum users are case sensitive. Unlike the Windows OS user, user "Spectrum" is not the same as user "spectrum" in the Spectrum environment.
