UIM e2e_appmon script coming across as 'Host Name' and 'Source' in Alarm Panel

Issue/Introduction

The Source and Host name of the e2e alarm displayed the e2e profile script name and NOT the true Source and Host name for the alarm. Normally, the e2e probe uses the host name of the system where the probe is deployed as the default source in QoS as well as alarm messages.

Environment

- UIM 8.5.1
- e2e_appmon 2.2x

Cause

Raw configure setting override_source was set to yes.

Resolution

The key line in the customer's existing e2e profile was:

   override_source = yes

When this is configured (via the radio button on the Advanced tab in the GUI),

-> even though a source value may not have been specified, the alarm source (and QOS data source) will take on the e2e profile name/script name.
 

Additional Information

You may want to edit the e2e_appmon.cfx file in any e2e script distribution package to set the override_source = no as the default, so that the package can be used to update your e2e robots/profiles.
