Problem routing to gateway hostname

Issue/Introduction

I get the following error when I published a service in the gateway for ssg/ping:

Problem routing to https://<gateway_hostname>:8443/ssg/ping. Error msg: Unable to obtain HTTP response from https://<gateway_hostname>:8443/ssg/ping: Unknown host: <gateway_hostname>: Name or service not known

Environment

All supported versions of the API Gateway

Resolution

Ensure that the gateway's hostname is listed in the /etc/host file. Also, make sure the permissions for /etc/hosts file is set to 644.
