Issue/Introduction
The client turn on system wide monitoring for CA Intertest CICS in their CICS region by entering command CNTL=ON,PROG=.ALL This command will monitor every program executed in the CICS region. But when the client executes their test program COBDEMO that is design to produce an ASRA abend CA Intertest CICS does not intercept the abend.
Environment
Z/OS CICS
Cause
One of the application programmers did a wildcard exclude for all programs that started with CO* this caused the COBDEMO program to be excluded from monitoring.
Resolution
The client removed the wildcard exclude from CA Intertest CICS and excluded programs from monitoring by using the entire program name.
To see which programs are excluded from monitoring at a clear screen in CICS enter the following command and press enter. This will display the programs being excluded from monitoring.
CNTL=LIST
The following report will be displayed.

In this report you can see programs that start with CO* are in the Exclusion Table list. This caused COBDEMO not to be monitored.
