Issue/Introduction

We are unable to set a new remote agent connection (AIX) through workbench for a local user. The same works when we provide a harvest user in the connection details.
In Harvest 7.1 we used to connect remote machines using our own accounts for check-in check-out tasks. Since the credentials for harvest's own account 'harvest' cannot be shared with everyone and they need to connect to the remote machines using their own accounts, please provide a solution for it.

Running the harvest agent services with root privileges is strongly restrictive and we are looking for an alternate solution

Environment

Component: CCCHV

Resolution

There is no option to run multiuser agent without root previleges.
The best option in your usecase would be to create a generic user and use that for all.
