Issue/Introduction

A MIMPlex on two SYSPLEX with COMMUNICATION=DASDONLY.

When one of system was free and started using another MIM control file, existing MIMPlex marks the system as FREED-STR from FREE. How does the MIMPlex know that one of MIM started on another MIM control file ?

Resolution

When MIM is started, there is an XCF handshake sent to all systems in the same MIMPLEX. These systems are detemined by the XCF group name coded on the MIMINIT MIMPLEX= statement. If another MIM is in the same sysplex, MIM receives the XCF handshake, and adds this system to the GMRPREPS mask in its own DASD control file, which is different from the one used  and issues MIM0910.

Once the system is added to this mask, MIM now issues MIM0061 for this system as it is not updating the current control file.
