Issue/Introduction

This article outlines the support guidelines for installing third-party maintenance software on the CA Identity Suite Virtual Appliance. It addresses compatibility requirements concerning root-level system access.

Cause

The Identity Suite Virtual Appliance is a hardened, closed-appliance architecture. It does not permit the installation or execution of software packages that require root-level access or elevated system permissions.

This restriction applies to third-party maintenance and monitoring agents, such as the Autosys agent.

Resolution

1. Installation of the Autosys agent on the CA Identity Suite Virtual Appliance is not supported due to strict system hardening and root access restrictions.
2. For monitoring purposes, use the officially supported monitoring interfaces described in the documentation: Monitoring Virtual Appliance
