Nolio Agent service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly

Issue/Introduction
After upgrading my CA Release Automation Agent (from 5.5.2 to 6.3) I am not able to start the NolioAgent service. It returns: Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly
Also, after getting this error we attempted to uninstall/reinstall the agent. The uninstall resulted in the following error: No JVM could be found on your system. Please define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed 32-bit JDK or JRE or download a JRE from www.java.com.

Release Automation 6.3 - Upgrading Agents from 5.5.2.191 to 6.3 (via ASAP).

Cause

To understand if the solution described in this article applies to you, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the <AgentInstall> folder. Check to see if there is a jre_update folder. If so then this article likely applies. The date/timestamp of the jre_update folder was from when the upgrade was attempted. We then looked at the jre folder and noticed it was practically empty (only had bin\awt.dll file in it).

Resolution
Manually rename the jre folder to jre_failedUpgrade. Then rename jre_update to jre. Then start the nolio agent service. The upgrade of the agent will be complete and the updated version will be reflected appropriately in ASAP (Automation Studio -> Agent Management).

The following log files can be helpful while troubleshooting agent upgrade problems:
1. A copy of the agents conf directory
2. An export of the agent machines Application and System Windows event logs (AppEvt.evtx & SysEvt.evtx).
3. A copy of the agents logs directory
4. A recursive directory listing of the Agent installation folder.
5. A list of currently running processes/services (tasklist.txt).
6. <AgentInstallDirectory>\temp.txt
7. <AgentInstallDirectory>\agent_restart_upgrade.txt
