Unable to install Performance Management 3.6

Issue/Introduction

When installing components of Performance Management 3.6, received below error and the installation stopped:


Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported

Unable to load and to prepare the installer in console or silent mode.

Cause

This error can be seen when using RHEL 7.4 and installing CA Performance Management 3.6+, there is an issue with RHEL 7.4 and fonts in Java.  

In /tmp, there may be some lax-* files from the failed installation.  You can scan them and see if you see a message about:

Caused by: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0
    at sun.font.CompositeStrike.getStrikeForSlot(CompositeStrike.java:75)

 

Resolution

Installing the package dejavu-serif-fonts should resolve the problem.
 

yum install dejavu-serif-fonts

After the package is installed, please attempt the installation once again.
