When configured for Fault Tolerance, you stop/start the DA as follows:

service dadaemon maintenance
b) RHEL 7.x, SLES, or OL:
DA_Install_Directory/scripts/dadaemon maintenance
2) Start:
a) RHEL 6.x:
service dadaemon activate
b) RHEL 7.x, SLES, or OL:
DA_Install_Directory/scripts/dadaemon activate
Additional Information
The activate and maintenance commands tell the consul service to stop or start the DA.
It can take up to 5 minutes before you see a response and state change.
You can check the consul-ext.log to see if the consul service has issues a stop or start.
