OPS0189S Main task timed out while waiting to be posted by the shared file I/O subtask

Issue/Introduction

Getting the following error message followed by an abend SA03 in the OPSMAIN started task after an IPL:

*OPS0189S Main task timed out while waiting to be posted by the shared file I/O subtask

Resolution

If your installation does NOT use the VSAM shared file (GLVSHAREDFILE, GLVSHAREDDD parameters are not set) so you should include the following parameter in the OPSSPA00 member:

T = OPSPRM_SET("GLVSHAREDTASK","NOTASK")

This will prevent that SHFI subtask from being started and prevent the OPS0189S message from occurring.
This SHFI subtask is only required when you use the VSAM shared file I mentioned earlier.
