CA APM collects application related errors in the smartsor database, is it possible to take action when a specific error is collected by CA APM?

Resolution

The smartstore database itself only collects counters on numbers or errors etc the details of the error is derived from a trace in the traces database if the error in question triggers the appropriate error tracer. For example http 404 errors. The reason for making this distinction is that the alerts and actions that you can define in the workstation management module editor are triggered against metric values in smartstore not against the trace information. So if you are looking to trigger an action each time you get a 404 error for example then that is not possible using that mechanism.
