When do you get the RestartDetected alarm with the ntservices probe?

Issue/Introduction

I have restarted a service that I have a profile for in the ntservices probe but when I restart that service I am not seeing an alarm. When do you get the RestartDetected alarm with the ntservices probe?

Component: ntservices probe

Resolution

We do not keep track of a service restarting per say. We do however allow you to send an alarm if you have 'Try to start the service' selected under the Properties tab, for profiles that are set to auto. 

You would also have to set Message overrides for the profile and check the box in it to Alarm on action, and set 'On restarting the service' to Restart Detected. 

We will then send the informational alarm when the 'Number of restart attempts' defined on the properties tab has been reached.
