SYMD trnasaction abending with ASRA

Issue/Introduction

SYMD transaction is failing with ASRA abend. From the CICS log:
+GSVC201E (Task) Tran=SYMD Task= 1213 Code=ASRA Program=IN70SYMZ ReqID=* Resource=*
+CASD7419 SYMDUMP INTERCEPT OF DUMP REQUEST FOR TRANSACTION SYMD: ABEND(ASRA), TASK(01213)

Resolution

One possible reason is that there is a release mismatch.
Call the VRPT transaction and check all program names in option 1 and 4.
Check INrrSYMU for instance.
Does "rr" display the expected CICS version?
For example, do you see IN71SYMU when using CICS TS 5.4 (CICS71)?
Then check the CSD - are you using the correct definitions?
