Issue/Introduction

When launching a certification campaign in Identity Governance, the process may fail with the error: "There are no certification tasks to create, review your settings." This error typically indicates that the campaign configuration is valid, but the system cannot identify any resources or accounts requiring certification based on the provided filters or imported data.

Environment

Identity Governance 14.5 & 15

Cause

This error occurs due to one of the following:

  • Filters configured for the campaign are too restrictive, effectively excluding all potential tasks.
  • Data imported into the account or glossary files is mismatched, preventing proper resource-to-account correlation.
  • Extraneous delimiters (e.g., colons in role names) in imported data are breaking the import logic.

Resolution

  1. Validate Filters: Verify that the certification campaign filters are not overly restrictive and are correctly capturing the intended entities.
  2. Verify Account Data: Navigate to Entity Browser > Universe > Account > Resource and search for a selected account. If no resources are listed, the system cannot generate tasks.
  3. Audit Imported Data: Review your account and glossary files for data mismatches.
  4. Cleanse Data: Remove extraneous delimiter characters (e.g., extra colons) from role or resource names in your import files.
  5. Re-import and Test: After cleansing the data, re-import the files and attempt to launch the campaign again.
