Issue/Introduction

When launching a campaign, it fails with "Error: There are no certification tasks to create, review your settings."

Resolution

The message does not necessarily indicate a problem. There may be no certifications required for the campaign.

Here are some things to check:

  • Does this certification have any filters configured? If so validate that your filters are not eliminating certifications.
  • You may need to review your model config files (.cfg., udb, .rdb) for potential problems.
  • The problem could be with the files - Account Data & Glossary Data - you have imported. It is possible that the data is mismatched.
  • Check in Entity Browser>>Universe>>Account>>Resource for a selected account to confirm. Most probably you will find no resources there. IG is trying to search for a resource to initiate the certification campaign but has not found any resource with accounts, which in turn throws " Error: There are no certification tasks to create, review your settings". If that is the case, the users are correlating properly but not getting any resources. Correct the files, re-import, and try again.

This is an actual example of the type of issue that could be problematic:

The campaign date that was imported has a delimiter character (an additional colon in the role name) which was causing this issue. Cleaning up the data by removing the extraneous colons allowed a successful import and creation of the certification campaign for the application.
