Issue/Introduction

There is an error message when configuring the 'Backup Scheduler' using the CIFS protocol at Configuration -> Database -> Backup Scheduler

PAM-CM-0058 : CIFS mount operation unsuccessful. Mount point: \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\share Hostname: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

PAM-CM-0058 : CIFS mount operation unsuccessful.

Environment

CA Privileged Access Manager 3.x

Resolution

This error message can be observed in below cases;
1. You entered the wrong password at 'Password'.
2. You did not use the 'Share Name' of Windows shared folder at 'Share Path'.
3. You need to enter some strings at 'Domain'.
(Note: This applies only to 3.1.x, not required for 3.2.)
4. User account for the share is locked out.
