Issue/Introduction
When concatenated CA Panexec library and PDS/E datasets the S806 ABEND occurred. Are there any solution ?
Environment
z/OS Panexec R5.3
Resolution
CA Panexec does not full support PDS/E datasets. When CA Panexec library and PDS/E datasets were defined in the STEPLIB DD, the module search order changes. If PDS/E datasets is detected, the technique for accessing the datasets is changed, which at this time causes the CA Panexec library to be skipped from the search process due to design constraints of the implemented PDS/E datasets support. If you do not define PDS/E datasets on the STEPLIB DD, the problem does not occur. Please define the PDS/E datasets in the LINKLIST as the workaround.
Additional Information
Please see the "CA-Panexec LNKLST Look Aside" of "System Reference Guide".
MVS/ESA Considerations; CA Panexec supports PDS/E datasets but does not allow concatenation of CA Panexec libraries and PDS/E datasets.
