Issue/Introduction

Oracle will no longer offer updates free of charge for Oracle SE 8 (and above) beginning in January 2019, as per the Oracle Java SE Support Roadmap.

Since a lot of PPM on premise customers use JAVA SE as a platform to run the application, do they need to have separate JAVA enterprise licensing in place to continue using CA PPM after January 2019, or is CA looking at an alternative?

Environment

Release:
Component: PPMENV

Resolution

The PPM Product Managment team is currently unclear about the details on how Oracle is handling their Java licensing – on premise customers with a concern about Oracles licensing changes will impact their use of CA PPM should talk to Oracle directly.
