Issue/Introduction

Why I am getting message: BSTR-30 I/O ERROR ON BATCH TERMINAL when running a batch terminal (BTI) job through CA 7?

Environment

Release:
Component: 7

Resolution

This error can occur if the  BUFSIZE on your LINE statement does not match the Blocksize of your BATCHIN dataset .

Below is an example of the GROUP/LINE/TERM statement for the batch terminal. Notice BUFSIZE=3120, this value must also be the same for you BLKSIZE on the BATCHIN dataset.

GROUP,NAME=BATCH#1,DEVICE=BATCH,LNAME=BLINE
LINE,NAME=BLINE,TNAME=BTERM1,BUFSIZE=3120
TERM,NAME=BTERM1,DEVICE=BATCH,NLINE=60,LINLEN=137
