CA API Gateway

Issue/Introduction

When launching the policy manager on a supported OS, no assertions will be available in the assertion palette and the services panel will remain empty.

Environment

All supported versions of the CA API Gateway

Cause

This typically occurs for one of several reasons

1) Invalid, expired or no license file has been uploaded
2) The installation is corrupted
3) A conflicting version of the JRE is being used

Resolution

To address this

1) Make sure a valid license has been uploaded
2) On Windows, Backup and then remove the C:\Users\<user>\.l7tech folder
3) Ensure that the policy manager is using the JRE bundled with the program
You can confirm this by viewing the Policy Manager ini file contained in the installation path.

It should refer to the bundled JRE, this is the JRE folder within the installation folder

i.e:

jre=jre\bin\javaw.exe

4) Confirm there are no JAVA environment variables set that could override this, such as

JAVA_HOME
JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS
_JAVA_OPTIONS
