Issue/Introduction
We need to bring one SpectroSERVER (SS) from one Distributed Spectrum System (DSS) into another distributed environment.
Our Main Location Server (MLS) is running as the user administrator but the new server has a different install user.
So, how do we change the install user on the customer server to match that used in the DSS and import the new server into the DSS?
What is the recommended way to move a SpectroSERVER from one Distributed Spectrum System to another?
Environment
Release: Any
Component: SPCCSS
Resolution
It is recommended to do the following:
1. Install a new SpectroSERVER system in the "other" DSS environment that is compatible with the current SpectroSERVER installations.
2. Sync the catalog on the new SS system with the catalog of the "other" DSS environment. Use the "Master Catalog" solution discussed in knowledge article 121348 "
How to propagate catalog changes in a Distributed SpectroSERVER environment".
3. Use the Modeling Gateway to export the models from the one SpectroSERVER and import it into the new SpectroSERVER in the "other" DSS.
Additional Information
Please reference the "Modeling Gateway Toolkit" section of the documentation for more information.
