PEA RO97690 with CA RS Maintenance

Issue/Introduction

I’m starting the process to apply R19 maintenance: CARS1704 thru CARS1805 

Just today, we received Hyper notification SI04175 – which involves RO97690 (in CARS1710) 

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 
PTF RO97690 introduced a bug that can cause a S0C1 or S0C6 abend to occur 
after a DC040107 message been produced. 
SYMPTOMS: 
S0C1 or S0C6 abend produced after a DC040107 message is written to the log. 
IMPACT: 
The Central Version abends and needs to be started back up. 
CIRCUMVENTION: 
Increase SYSLOCKS value, so that DC040107 messages are not produced or 
back off PTF RO97690 until a fix is available. 

My question is should we apply RO97690 with this latest maintenance ?

Yes, there is a published hiper fix, SO04177, that will prevent the problem introduced by RO97690.
