Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. When attempting to stop the CA Process Automation service:
Environment
Process Automation all versions
Resolution
Process Automation is attempting to wrap up any activities it is currently in the middle of and unload anything stored in memory to the physical database table. Windows gets tired of waiting and throws an error, typically just prior to java actually completing this wrapping up.
We suggest the following actions to restart Process Automation on Windows:
1. Use the Stop option to stop the CA Process Automation service; 2. Open Task Manager and monitor the 2 Java.exe processes; 3. Clear the windows service error message and verify that both Java.exe processes have stopped; 4. Start the CA Process Automation service back up.
