Not able to stop or kill a lisa-invoke job from DevTest Portal

We are seeing lisa-invoke jobs being hung and when we try to kill them or stop them nothing happens and the only way for use to fully stop them is to restart the services. We need a fix for this as it is hard to find time in the middle of the day to bounce the services on our prod servers.
