After installing the thick workstation client on a Windows C: drive using an administrative account the workstation will not start when attempted as a normal user. There is no feedback to teh user - it just doesn't open.
Cause
The workstation installer does not automatically grant write access to the install location to 'Users' - this is a requirement for the workstation to be startable.
Environment
APM 10.x on Windows
Resolution
After installing as an administrative account it is necessary to manually grant write access to the install hierarchy for the 'Users' group using the properties option for the folder in windows explorer.
An enhancement request is open for the installer to be able to handle this situation
