Unable to Process Request - server or network error in Resource Planning

Issue/Introduction

One user has a problem when clicking on "Resource Planning" page from the home menu, they get an error message  - "Unable to Process Request - server or network error".

Cause

This problem is typically caused by a portlet or multiple portlets pulling data on load rather than waiting for a filter to be set first by the user. 

Environment

Release: All Supported Releases

Component: Clarity Resource Management

Resolution

To prevent this from occurring, as a best practice, all portlets should be set to NOT pull data on load, but should only pull data once a filter is set.
