Issue/Introduction

Seeing the following message in the $SPECROOT/SS/VNM.OUT file after the installation of BMP_10.2.301 patch on Linux

getaddrinfo - prefer IPv6 over IPv4

Environment

Spectrum 10.2.3 + BMP_10.2.301 on Linux

Resolution

This message is the result of a fix in the BMP_301 patch to overcome the RHEL OS bug https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=9981, in the latest Linux kernel versions in a dual stack (pv4 and ipv6) environment.

This is a debug statement to know how many customers are really enabled IPv6 and are impacted by above RHEL bug.

The message is not harmful, and can be ignored.
