Issue/Introduction

Why is the generated period (.) in a different placement sometimes with CA Datacom MetaCOBOL Version 15.1 versus the prior release CA MetaCOBOL+ Version 1.1?

Resolution

CA Datacom MetaCOBOL Support Version 15.1 provided solutions which properly handled very large set of comment source statements. In doing so, the translator under version 15.1 outputs the period (.) at the end of the source statement instead on a separate line by itself following the large set of comments.
