Issue/Introduction

When attempting to inactivate a Role via the CA Service Desk Manager (CA SDM) web interface, receive following error: AHD05482: Cannot inactivate this Role; it is currently assigned to an Access Type

Environment

CA Service Desk Manager 12.9, 14.1 and 17.x
All Supported Operating and Database Systems

Resolution

1.  Follow KB000019231(https://comm.support.ca.com/kb/when-attempting-to-inactivate-a-role-via-the-ca-service-desk-manager-ca-sdm-web-interface-receive-following-error-ahd05481cannot-inactivate-this-role-it-is-currently-assigned-to-a-contact/kb000019231) to ensure that there are no contacts associated with the CA SDM role that is to be inactivated

2.  Using the ROLE_ID from KB000019231, run the following SQL queries against the MDB:
select * from usp_acctyp_role where role_obj = '<ROLE_ID>'

For example: select * from usp_acctyp_role where role_obj = '400058'

3.  From the returned results, you should see a value for the Access Type Field (i.e. 10021).  Using the value for the Access Type field, run the following query for each Access Type returned above:

select * from acctyp_v2 where id = '10021'

This will provide the name of the Access Type that is associated with the Role so you can remove it via the CA SDM UI.

Once there are no Contacts or Access Types associated to the Role, it can be inactivated.
