Issue/Introduction

The data base's percentage utilization is displayed on the console when the CA Scheduler JM started task is activated and after the daily autoscan.  The display shows as follows:

*CACM335E CA-DATACOM AREA ACH IS  86% FULL

  CACM335I CA-DATACOM AREA HST IS  22% FULL

  CACM335I CA-DATACOM AREA IXX IS  28% FULL

This knowledge document provides instructions on how to increase the size of the different areas for DBID=430.

Resolution

  1. Shutdown the CA Scheduler JM started task and ensure that everyone has logged off CA Scheduler JM online.
  2. Edit CA Scheduler JM SAMPJCL member DBRESIZE and change only the data set names, the UNIT name, and the SPACE parameters. The SYSIN control statements for program DBUTLTY must not be modified. The DBRESIZE job creates a new Index, Data Area, and History data set. These three data sets must be initialized and loaded at the same time.
  3. Submit job DBRESIZE. The return code must be 00 on all steps.  The DBRESIZE JCL will perform the following:

         a. Close your database DBID=430.  Run this step separately.   (This will fail if anyone is using CA Scheduler).

         b. BACK UP your CA Scheduler database.

         c. Rename your existing datasets to ".OLD" files.

         d. Create and Initialize new datasets.

         e. RELOAD the data from the BACKUP.

This procedure affects all copies of CA Scheduler JM sharing the same physical data base.

Once complete, you can then run a CXX report (member DBSPACE) to see your utilization.
