Password phrase does not work on reply for TMSINIT in SDSF

Issue/Introduction

After logon to TSO with PWphrase I can't start TMSINIT using SDSF. Whenever I enter my PWphrase I get below error message and my PWphrase is not accepted.

ICH408I USER(xxxxxx  ) GROUP(GRPxxxxx) NAME(nnnnnn,nnnnnnnnn  

  LOGON/JOB INITIATION - PASS PHRASE IS NOT VALID        

IEFTMS24 - USERID/PASSWORD ACCESS DENIED   

Without password phrase TMSINIT can be started without issues.

 

Are there, any restrictions regarding the use of special signs in the password phrase?

Since CA1 Release 14.0, the password Passphrase is supported. It has been introduced by the PTF RO86720.

Environment

SDSF version greater than 1.9 and z/OS

Resolution

The restriction comes from SDSF side and the instruction can be found in the IBM book.

You need to use the / command without parameter to open a popup window where you can enter the passphrase between quotes to reply to TMSINIT WTO.
