Issue/Introduction

Customer wants to deploy CA Threat Analytics for PAM (TAP) on AWS. While a native AMI for TAP is available, this document will provide guidance on how to deploy it based on the TAP OVA that is downloadable from CA Support Online website.

Environment

CA TAP 2.2 OVA
AWS Account

Resolution

The supported method for deploying TAP in AWS is to convert the official TAP OVA, available on the download site, using the AWS instructions. You can find the instructions here: https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/vm-import/

Important Warning When starting the process with our OVA, Amazon suggests to have two disks on the converted machine. Having two disks may lead to a corrupted AMI for some reason. Customers are advised to run the import with a single disk to have a working AMI for TAP.
