How to uninstall CA Common Services from an lpar?

Environment

CA COMMON SERVICES 14.1 or 15.0

- z/OS supported releases -

Cause

Customer no longer has a need for CCS on one or more  LPARs.  Wants to remove the product.

Resolution

Here are the recommendations to uninstall CA Common Services from one of your lpars:

If you are running a z/OS above 1.13, the CAW0LPA library is not used.

If you are running rel 14.1 with a z/OS below 1.3, remove CAW0LPA library from your LPALSTxx concatenation.

You will have to remove CAW0PLD and CAW0LINK libraries from LINKLIST and all the APF authorized Common Services libraries.

You can stop CA HEALTH CHECKER address space but CAMASTER will remain active until the next IPL.

The CAMASTER code front ends IBM modules and begins the initialization code and passes control to the IBM code.

Removing the two Common Services libraries CAW0LINK and CAW0PLD and a subsequent IPL will eliminate the code to start CAMASTER.
