How to configure the Admin Console to access the Web Archive using a Proxy Server

Issue/Introduction

How to configure the Admin Console to access the Web Archive using a Proxy Server.

In some environments where internet access requires routing through a proxy server, the Admin Console will need to route the requests via the webgtw (Web Gateway) probe.

The webgtw probe must be configured to use a proxy server and then the Admin Console to pass the request through the webgtw.

Environment

• Release: UIM 20.3, and 20.4

Resolution

Deploying and configuring the Web Gateway probe

1. Download the webgtw probe into the local archive
   
      Note: You can perform this from the IM client or you can download the package from the
                  web archive directly

2. Deploy webgtw to the Primary Hub. This is where the wasp probe hosting the admin console webapp runs.
   
   
3. Using Admin Console configure the ProxyServer and Proxy port on the webgtw probe.

 Configure the adminconsoleapp to use the webgtw

1. using Raw Configure to configure the adminconsole webapp 
       wasp ~~> Raw Configure 
   
   
2. Navigate to
       webapps ~~> adminconsoleapp ~~> custom ~~> uncrypted 
   
   
3. Set the webgtw_address to the UIM address of the webgtw probe
      ex. /Domain/HubName/HubRobotName/webgtw 
   

    

   
   
   Note: The nimbus address is case sensitive

Next, start the webgtw probe and then restart the admin console's wasp probe

Additional Information

In UIM v20.4 configure the webgtw using the configuration screen from the Admin Console and do not update via Raw_configure. This was validated in 20.4.
