Issue/Introduction

Spectrum Archive Manager is switched to secondary and will not start.
When reviewing the $SPECROOT/SS/DDM/ARCHMGR.OUT file it contains just a couple of lines:

Apr 30 09:35:06 : ArchMgr started as user 'user'
Apr 30 09:35:06 : ArchMgr validating database.

Environment

Release: 10.3.x , 10.4.x
Component: SPCAEM

Resolution

This is functioning as designed.
When the Archive Manager is started it sends a CHECK TABLE event; query to mysql.
Pending database size this can potentially take hours.

If the secondary Archive Manager is running and connected - there is no problem to be concerned with.

If there is no secondary, you may opt to remove all the archive manager data to get it to start up quickly.
It is advised you call CA Support to discuss this option.
