Issue/Introduction

When configuring searches within CA Identity Portal, users may look for the legacy SIGMAroles.xml file mentioned in older documentation. This file is no longer provided in the Identity Portal download package. Users need to identify the correct replacement file and the process for importing search-related service tasks into Identity Manager.

Environment

  • Product: CA Identity Portal
  • Component: SIGMA / Identity Portal Integration
  • Release: 14.x, 15.x

Resolution

The SIGMAroles.xml file has been replaced by the UseCaseService-RoleDefinitions.xml file. This file contains the necessary service tasks and role definitions required to configure Identity Portal searches and other core functionalities.

Import Procedure

To import the required definitions, perform the following steps in the Identity Manager Management Console:

  1. Log in to the Identity Manager Management Console.
  2. Navigate to Environments > [Your_Environment] > Role and Task Settings > Import.
  3. Locate the list of available XML definitions.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the list and select Use Case Service.
  5. Click Finish to complete the import.

Additional Information

  • Duplicate Roles: If the import fails, verify that there are no duplicate IM Admin Role entries (such as "Use Case Service Admin") in the database, as these can block the deployment of the Use Case Service definitions.
  • Verification: After a successful import, the new tasks and roles will be available for association within the Identity Portal administration interface.
