Issue/Introduction

After applying that latest CA DADS Plus for CICS maintenance the client now reports that CA DADS Batch interface jobs are now falling with message
DADSA558 08:58:31 S3CICS JOBN=SCISRALC 'FILE'='CCSEC ' ALLOC FAILED RC=X'04'E=X'1708'I=X'0002'.

Environment

 Z/OS
CICS

Cause

For some reason in the CICS region where the testing of the new maintenance was being done the data sets defined to the CA DADS control file did not exist on DASD.
When a batch job runs CA DADS issues an SVC99 to allocate the data set defined to CA DADS but the VSAM cluster that the CA DADS entry points to did not exist. CA DADS issued message DADSP558 error code 1708 which indicates the DSNAME NOT FOUND(NOT CATALOGED)

Resolution

The applications team needs to make sure that the data sets that are defined to CA DADS Plus exist on DASD. In the example below the  CA DADS inquiry screen shows file entry DADMNOSP points to data set TEST.DADMNOSP. Dataset TEST.DADMNOSP must exist and be cataloged on the testing LPAR.
In this case dataset TEST.DADMNOSP was not cataloged.
