Clarity throws ERROR Value is too large for a dynamic query based lookup attribute

Issue/Introduction

Why PPM throws ERROR Value is too large while selecting a value with long ID from a dynamic query based lookup attribute?

Environment

CA PPM 15.x

Resolution

This error is thrown when the Hidden key of the Dynamic Query based lookup is having a length of more than 30 characters. There was a concern (CLRT-77416) raised for this scenario and our development team confirmed that this is working as per design and not an issue with the product. 

As a workaround, redesign the query to restrict the length of the value being used for the hidden key. Make sure that it does not cross the limit of 30.
